Whether you watched this year’s NDP from the stands of The Padang, or tuned in from home, you may have spotted some of our Members of Parliament (MPs) donning red and white outfits with familiar motifs.

These designs were featured on the NDP 2023 Packs and transformed into wearable art for our MPs by i’mable Collective, who worked with social enterprise Singapore Fashion Runway and local brand Yingthelabel to create a fashion collection named Motif Majulah. Motif Majulah, which means “going forward with design”, embodies the fighting spirit of Singapore in promoting disability inclusion and empowerment.

10 MPs have chosen to don these designs at this year’s NDP, showcasing their support and call for inclusion, as SG Enable celebrates 10 years of building an inclusive Singapore. These MPs are:

1. Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat

2. Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong

3. Minister Desmond Lee

4. Minister Josephine Teo

5. Minister Tan See Leng

6. Senior Minister of State Amy Khor

7. Minister of State Gan Siow Huang

8. Carrie Tan, Member of Parliament

9. Cheryl Chan, Member of Parliament

10.Yeo Wan Ling, Member of Parliament

What a meaningful way to celebrate the talents of our community as we commemorate Singapore’s 58th birthday! The collaboration is one of the many we had this National Day. i’mable Collective also partnered with Eden + Elie earlier this month to create a limited-edition capsule necklace inspired by the NDP Pack artwork design. The necklace was worn by President Halimah Yacob at the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert as a symbol of her continuous support for disability inclusion.
