In the spirit of giving, i’mable Collective partnered with ION Orchard earlier this month to impart valuable skills to a special community. The result? A delicate brooch designed by BOUND Design and produced by Social Gifting, donned by ION Orchard’s Concierge staff this Christmas.
The collaboration saw 24 persons with disabilities from Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled hone their artistry in crafting exquisite brooches using eco-friendly materials, guided by the skilled macrame artist, Lu-Lyn Chang from BOUND Design.
Expressing her joy, Lu-Lyn stated, “It was an absolute delight to be able to design this Christmas brooch for ION Orchard. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to teach the making of this brooch to the beneficiaries at Bishan Home and to work with the marvelous teams at SG Enable and Social Gifting to give back to the community this festive season.”

Creating Viable Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities
ION Orchard’s vision for this collaboration goes beyond the artistic process. It encompasses a broader mission of empowering persons with disabilities. By working with i’mable Collective, ION Orchard was able to harness individual talents amongst the seniors at Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled, and provide them with the means to pursue fulfilling livelihoods. This is part of their efforts to champion inclusivity in the workplace.
